Time Limits
A court action for personal injuries for negligence must be issued within two years from the accident, or from the date of knowledge of the injured person, whichever occurs later. The time during which the Personal Injuries Assessment Board (PIAB) processes an application, and the period of six months from when your application is released by the PIAB, are both disregarded for the purpose of calculating the time limits. Please contact us immediately for advice if you are not sure about time, or any other aspect of your proceedings.
